Lump'N'Loaf Records was founded with one mission in mind - to cast a spotlight on cutting-edge and eclectic music that has been born out of the highly talented, yet relatively unknown central New Jersey music scene.
L'N'L will continue to wave its' middle finger at the popular, cookie-cutter record industry by striving to offer a true "alternative" to music listening and social commentary.
ZIGMAN BIRD "Cream of the crop!" Zigman Bird soars above the rest. Very well produced, catchy songs that stick in the listeners head. I've had the chance to see them live in Asbury Park, New Jersey and they were very tight, polished and entertaining. A must see, or listen, for those who like their music without compromise. Just great Rock! Jennifer Bolean / Critics Choice Magazine

ZIGMAN BIRD RADIO INTERVIEW & PERFORMANCE TONIGHT!
Hello ZB fans!
Zigman Bird is on the radio! BlowUpRadio!
Ever wondered what a Zigman Bird is? Do you know the connections between actor Jeff Daniels and ZB? Just who is Raymond Spectacular?
You can hear a snippet of our interview on BlowUpRadio directly from our website, www.ZigmanBird.com and tune in tonight, Monday, December 3 at 8 p.m. to hear the full one hour show at http://www.live365.com/stations/blowup.
And then...
You can come see ZB at Buddies Tavern this Friday, December 7. BlowUpRadio’s very own Lazlo will host this show. Lazlo is a fantastic supporter of New Jersey bands and this Friday marks the seventh anniversary of BlowUpRadio.com. Yes ladies and gentlemen. Seven years! Most people can't commit to anything for seven minutes... Yet, Lazlo has been playing New Jersey bands/music/things on his Internet radio station for the past seven years.
So check out BlowUpRadio.com for a heavy dose of New Jersey music. And don't forget the Zigman Bird interview tonight at 8 p.m.
Wow...Wow!!! Zigman Bird and the Spiders From Mars had a most spectacular time this past weekend at The Court Tavern. ZB were dressed to the hilt w/ stretch pants, glitter, eyeliner, wigs and even the one time Bowie eye patch! The crowd really enjoyed the show and ZB is thankful that you all stopped in to enjoy the fun. "Seeing David Bowie talk like Rodney Daingerfield between songs was the highlight for me" said one annonomys Halloween Martian with big fake pointy boobs...( I think they were fake) Next up after ZB was Anthony Fiumano and his band with a set of REM covers that sounded so good you thought REM were actually there on stage! Closing the night was classic Duran Duran played by the band Spiraling. A great set of tunes which ended the night and before you knew it, it was 2 o'clock closing time. Damn...if only every day were Halloween. Oh, and a special Halloween thanks to "That Guy"
Check out Zigman Bird on Saturday, November 17th at Buddies Tavern in Parlin NJ. Go to the L'N'L Show page for more about that show coming soon... Thanks

From Zigman Bird:
ZB is alive and kickin'. This time were kickin' at Buddies Tavern In Parlin, NJ. Where is Parlin NJ some of you may ask? Well, it's extremely close to Sayreville NJ. Anyway, this Saturday night September 8th ZB will take the stage at 9:30! Yep 9:30... or a little after, but very close to 9:30 as can be expected. I would say not so far from 9:30 that it would annoy anyone. Yep, that's all I'll say about ZB's 9:30 timeslot at Buddies Tavern in Parlin NJ this Saturday night.
Also playing that night a band called "Ziggy Shock". Who knows maybe Ziggy Stardust will show up. Maybe even Ziggy Marley. Maybe the inventor of Zig-Zag rolling paper will show...? Boy what a night it will be!!!!

Your New Course Is The Cosmic Way: Lump'N'Loaf Records Signs The Cosmic Brotherhood of Ra.
(October 17, 2005 - Somerville, NJ) Always on the lookout for unique, cutting-edge musical incarnations, Central New Jersey record label Lump’N’Loaf Records is proud to announce the newest addition to the L’N’L family, the Cosmic Brotherhood of Ra.
Part Secret Society, part Cult, the Tone Scientists in The Brotherhood fuse elements of late 60's/early 70's European Rock, American Psychedelic and Free Jazz along with a healthy dose of humor. Taking their influence from a long list of diverse musical and spiritual sources, they create a sound not often heard in today's "Here today, Gone tomorrow" Assembly Line style Pop Machine.
The Cosmic Brotherhood of Ra formed in 2001 to play Space Rock and expand upon the groundwork laid by pioneers of the genre while at the same time mixing in various other elements. After many lineups, the current Brotherhood have expanded upon even this, fusing in new musical elements and ideas to make up the strongest lineup to date.
“The bands inspiration was the music and symbolism of Nik Turner and Hawkwind but would grow to include many more influences including the Wisdom of Sun Ra,” explains founding member Brother Anubis Re. “I wanted to put together a band that allowed everyone to express themselves.... Reflecting the eclectic nature of all involved, while aiming for a common goal."
The band is currently putting the finishing touches to their full-length debut for L’N’L. The CD, entitled, Rendezvous with the Living Wisdom is set for a release date of December 21st 2005, the Winter Solstice.
"We have a new message board, folks. so be sure to hit it and be who u want to be...jennifer bolean, or professor griff or.....hell, bobby cheetah has found out about it too. maybe we can get bushman back."

Things happen in life that remind a person how fragile life can be. One of those things happened last week, Thursday, March 3rd, when Jack Stock passed away.
A great person, friend, musician, Jack was the type of person who upon meeting him for the first time, made you realize that there were still good, honest people around. A warm smile always greeted you, a smile that spoke of a joy for life, a joy for the music he created and for the friends surrounding him.
Jack was truly an inspiration. He wrote songs that were postcards laden with tongue-in-cheek humor and performed them with a mischievous twinkle emanating from his eye.
He took the stage with his trusty acoustic in hand and gave his best performance every single time. It didn’t matter if it was crowds of hundreds or just the venue’s staff. Home was the stage and we loved him for inviting us in for a spell.
Thank you Jack. We’ll miss you but we’ll never forget ya!
PS: There will be a wake for Jack Stock in Staten Island today Monday March 7th. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at: Pizzo, Paul - Bedell-Pizzo Funeral Home, 7447 Amboy Rd, Staten Island, NY (718) 984-0913.

IN MEMORY OF DEPARTED COMRADES
Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die in vain as long as my sacrifice is not forgotten.

A SOLITARY CANDLE
A solitary candle A humble, quiet token. The merest spark of hopefulness that left the dark unbroken.
It whispered to the empty night of innocence too brief, of bravery midst adversity of anguished souls in grief.
Through tear-dimmed eyes it shimmered a solemn, lonely flame. Its whisper caught the evening breeze and soon more candles came.
A thousand burning candles a golden, shining sea. Lit a nation's darkened heart revealing Unity.

Greetings friends!
With the end of summer near & the beast known as the Republican National Convention rearing it's ugly head next door. well, L'N'L's gonna get political on your ass!
"Civil disobedience is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn
